Since we last played Huddersfield (1–1 draw), Cowley has been able to bring in a couple of players to improve his squad. Chris Willock (22) has joined from Benfica on loan, Emile Smith-Rowe (19) from Arsenal on loan, Andy King (31) from Rangers and Richard Stearman (32) on a free transfer. Cowley has utilised the loan and free transfer market well to bring in experience in core positions and exciting youngsters to improve the team going forward,

Tactical Analysis:

22/2/2020

Swansea City (A) 3–1 L

Substitutes:

13. Coleman

27. Jon Gorenc Stankovic

8. Trevoh Chalobah

21. Alex Pritchard

32. Emile Smith-Rowe — replaced King — 54th minute

24. Steve Mounié — replaced Bacuna — 46th minute

10. Christopher Willock — replaced Kachunga — 71st minute

25/02/2020

Bristol City (H) 2–1 W

Substitutes:

13. John Coleman

27. John Gerenc Stankovic

21. Alex Pritchard

29. Andy King

7. Juninho Bacuna — replaced Willock — 70th minute

8. Trevoh Chalobah — replaced Hogg (injured) — 33rd minute

24. Steve Mounié — replaced Campbell — 74th minute

As you can see, Danny Cowley has been playing a 4231. He seems to have found his favoured back line, but hasn’t found his favoured front 5 as he was regularly changing 1/2 players each match in the forward areas. Despite this, since the 2–1 victory against Bristol City, he has kept the same team for the next 2 games (with Chalobah starting for the injured Hogg). I believe this to be his strongest team.
